Luxembourg Open Homebrew Championships
The Luxembourg Open Homebrew Championships are organised by the Luxembourg Homebrew Club. We are a group of home-brewers from all over the world who live in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Visit our web-site at www.homebrewclub.lu for details of the next club meeting. New members are always welcome!
For the second edition of the championships we have following groups:
→ Pilsner / Lager
→ Wheat beer
→ Sour Ale
→ IPA
→ Porter / Stout
→ Open class where you define the style you make according to the BJCP guidelines
http://www.bjcp.org/docs/2015_Guidelines_Beer.pdf
This is an "Open" Championship, which means anyone from anywhere can enter, so long as your beer is home-brew.
IMPORTANT: You must send your beer (3 bottles of minimum 25cl of each entrance) to Rui Gonçalves (our club secretary), 47, route de Trèves, L-2633 Senningerberg, GD Luxembourg by Sunday 30th April 2017. As an alternative, we will organize a meetup in luxembourg at the end of april so you can hand in your beers personally.
Beers received after that date might not be included in the competition judging.
JUDGING
Judging will take place between 15th and 20th May by qualified BJCP beer judges and qualified Beer Sommeliers. Judging will not be open to the public or contestants. Judges' decisions are final.
AWARDS CEREMONY
The winning beers in each category, and the Grand Champion Beer, will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Saturday 20th May 2017 at a location in Luxembourg (to be announced). We plan to do an informal tasting, so we invite you to take a few bottles of homebrew to share. You do not need to be present to accept your prize (if you win), but if you're not there, then you don't get all the congratulations!
