Garage Brewery

Hey guys!

I figured I'd put up a post on my little "Garage Brewery" :)

I starting brewing back in 2014, and built our rig and kettles by hand with friends. All holes were drilled by us and all hardware mounted by hand. The burner shields are made from rolled aluminium (which was a pain in the ass) and the stand is built from steel Unistrut.

The kettles are 60L, and I am able to produce 30-45L batches, depending on the original gravity. I would like to upgrade my MLT to at least 100L...but that costs money. :snif:

I utilize a RIMS system, using a homemade PID control box and 2000W ULWD heating element. This enables me to recirculate the mash and hold temperature, even though my MLT is NOT insulated. I am also able to raise the mash temperature at a rate of about 1C per 2 minutes.

Cheers!

That's impressive. 8|

If you want some cheaper tanks, we sometime command some stainless steel ones from Germany.
You can check this topic.
